Crash sends bed moving with sleeping couple in it

LEXINGTON, Ky.(WTVQ)- A sleeping couple was jolted awake late Monday
night after a driver slammed his pickup into the wall of their apartment
in Lexington.

It happened at the Augusta Arms Apartments on Augusta Court at around 10
p.m.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, the pickup hit outside the
couple’s bedroom and impact of the crash pushed their bed a few feet.

No injuries were reported.

The fire department told ABC 36 the apartment is not livable at the
moment and Kentucky Utilities shut off power to the unit.

Management plans to give the couple another place to stay, according to
the fire department.

Authorities say the driver of the pick-up truck was arrested for driving
under the influence.
