Crash in Estill Co. causes power outage

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Power has been restored to all customers in Estill and surrounding counties after a car crash hit a utility pole Saturday.

The crash near the millers creek substation hit a Kentucky utility transmission line.

That originally knocked out power to more than 1,000 customers.

The cold and remote location made it even harder to get the power back up and running.

A warming shelter opened up at a church in Irvine since many people were without heat overnight.
