Crank and Boom Ice Cream hosting vaccine clinic with free ice cream

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – States and businesses are trying everything to try to encourage people to get the COVID vaccine.

Lottery tickets, car washes, Uber discounts and this week,  Crank and Boom is opening up its ice cream parlor to free ice cream for those who get vaccinated. It’s part of a week-long partnership with Wild Health.

“I hope that as many people will get vaccinated as possible. So that we can get back to normal, keep our community healthy, and get back to lots of crowds and lots of fun,” said Toa Green, owner of Crank and Boom.

Customer Wamkumbu Mukumano shared, “I actually didn’t know that they had free ice cream, so it was a plus after I signed up. I was like ‘wait, free ice cream, Yes sign me up.’  So I had no idea.”

Walk-up vaccines and appoints are available each day this week from 3-30 to 7 p.m. through Saturday. Crank and Boom is located on Manchester Street in the Distillery District.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- You’ve probably heard of mass vaccination clinics, drive through vaccination clinics, and vaccination clinics at major hospitals, but have you heard of an ice cream vaccination clinic?

Crank and Boom Craft Ice Cream is hosting one in Lexington at the end of the month.

Shots will be available from 3:30- 7:00 p.m. from May 24th- May 29th at Crank and Boom’s Distillery District location: 1210 Manchester Street.

It’s open to people age 12 and older.

You can make an appointment or walk up.

Oh, and, of course, there will be free ice cream!
