County fire chief in hot water over Blackface photo

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A social media post of a picture taken as long as two decades ago has landed an area fire chief in possible hot water while again sparking the debate over how people should be held accountable for things done in the past when other social outlooks have changed.

The Anderson County Fire District’s Board is reviewing Chief Pat Krogman after a picture of him in Blackface was brought to their attention. The picture was on Brogman’s personal Facebook page and has been there for sometime, according to The Anderson News.

The issue was raised last month during a disciplinary hearing for former Battalion Chief Marty Terry, whose lawyer pointed out the photo as part of a defense for being accused of violating the department’s social media policy.

ASs of this week, Brogman remains on duty and head of the department while the board “fully investigates” the matter, according to a statement released by Board Chairman Johnny Wall, the newspaper reported.
