Council on Postsecondary Education to hold info sessions for ITT students

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) —The Council on Postsecondary Education will hold two information sessions for displaced ITT students, following ITT’s abrupt closure of its Lexington and Louisville campuses last week.

The information sessions are set for:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 4:30-8 p.m. ET at the Leestown Campus of the Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC), Leestown Conference Center, 164 Opportunity Way, Lexington.
  • Thursday, Sept. 15, from 4:30-8 p.m. ET at the Downtown Campus of Jefferson Community College (JCTC), Health Science Hall, 110 W. Chestnut, Louisville.

“In the wake of ITT’s closing, students were left with so much uncertainty related to their educational futures,” said Council President Bob King. “We hope these sessions will provide students with the information they need to transition to another institution to complete their degrees.”

In addition to the host institutions, students will also have the opportunity to explore college options with representatives from other institutions.

Officials from the U.S. Department of Education, Department of Veteran Affairs and the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority will be available to talk with students about their financial aid options.

Students should bring their transcripts or grade reports and any industry certifications, which could allow them to earn credit for past experiences.
