Council not moving forward with new city hall at Herald-Leader

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Efforts to move Lexington City Hall to the Herald-Leader building have been set back.

The newspaper reports the Urban County Council voted seven to five Thursday against moving forward with negotiations with CRM companies, which had proposed renovating the Herald-Leader building.

The Herald-Leader says Vice Mayor Steve Kay questioned whether there was a consensus on the council.

Mayor Jim Gray thought it was a bad idea to act, when he only has four months left in office.
