Corvette Museum restores fallen Nicholasville officer’s car

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WTVQ)- It was a special weekend in Bowling Green for the wife of a Nicholasville officer killed while on duty.

When her husband died in 2015, Melissa Rhoads wanted to finish his passion project, repairing his 1984 Corvette in time for their daughter to take it to prom.

Rhoads called the Corvette Museum, hoping they could just recommend someone to repaint the car.

Instead, they had the car fully restored.

It even has her husband, Officer Burke Rhoads’, badge and name sewn into the center console.
