Correctional officer arrested at work in state prison

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say a correctional officer was arrested at the state prison where he works in Morgan County.

Investigators say 30-year old Billy Ferguson of West Liberty, was arrested at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex on Thursday.

State Police say Ferguson was lodged in the Big Sandy Correctional Institute in Johnson County.  That jail’s website says Ferguson was charged with Assault 4th, Unlawful Imprisonment 1st and Official Misconduct 1st. 

State Police did not release any details of what led to the charges against officer Ferguson.
