Dump truck driver electrocuted at demolition site in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office is at the scene of an accident at a demolition site in Lexington.
According to the coroner, a dump truck driver was unloading debris at the site near the intersection of Squires Road and Easthills Drive when he hit some power lines and the truck caught fire.
Another person at the site tried to get the driver out of the truck but could not.
The coroner says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
He says the likely cause of death was electrocution.
The accident has caused a power outage in that area.
Kentucky Utilities is reporting more than 2,000 customers in the area are without power.
