UPDATE: Name released of man killed in Rockcastle Co. crash

UPDATE (1:21 p.m.) — Kentucky State Police confirms the man killed in the I-75 crash in Rockcastle County is 49-year-old Eric Calhoun of Middletown, Ohio.

KSP says he was the passenger in a vehicle rear-ended by a Kia.

They say that Kia pushed Calhoun’s car into a truck, causing a three-car pile up.


ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) –  A man is dead after a fatal crash happened in Rockcastle County.

It happened just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday on I-75 North near mile marker 68.

According to the Rockcastle County Coroner Marvin Owens, the man’s name will not be released until his family is notified.

The coroner says three vehicles were involved along with three other people suffering injuries who were transported to the hospital.

There’s still no updates on the severity of the three people who were injured.

The coroner says the cause of the crash is still unknown.

I-75 North was shutdown for several hours and reopened after 2 a.m. Monday.
