UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in Scott County collision identified

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A motorcyclist killed in a collision Monday afternoon in Scott County has been identified as 26-year old Gregory Sharon, of Paris, according to the coroner.

Investigators say an SUV pulled out in front Sharon, leading to the deadly collision.  Sharon was pronounced dead at Georgetown Community Hospital.

The coroner says the accident happened off of Paris Pike near Crumbaugh Road.

The road was closed for just over four hours.  It reopened around 7:00 p.m., according to the state.

A woman who says she is a close friend of Sharon’s family says he left behind a wife and a son. The coroner says Sharon was a car salesman in Paris.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hinton-Turner in Georgetown, according to the coroner.
