Coroner: “No apparent trauma” on baby found dead in road
LEXINGTON, Ky, (WTVQ) – The preliminary autopsy on a baby found dead on La Rochelle Road in Lexington Sunday shows no apparent trauma, according to the Fayette County coroner.
The baby girl was found around 1:00 a.m.
The coroner says additional histology and evaluation from the State Medical Examiner’s Office are pending.
The coroner’s report released Monday listed the baby’s name as ‘Newborn Doe.’
Lexington Police said Sunday they were not involved in the case, that it was strictly being handled by the coroner’s office. Monday night, police sent out a news release saying the department was now investigating the baby’s death. Police asked anyone with information about this case to contact investigators at 859-258-3600.
