Coroner: Man riding electric scooter died after being hit by a car
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man riding an electric scooter has died after being hit by a car in Lexington, according to coroner’s office.
Officials say this is the city’s first fatality involving an electric scooter.
According to the coroner’s office, 35-year-old Timothy Ryan Freeman was hit Monday night on Richmond Road near Lakeshore Drive.
Lexington Police say Freeman was traveling in the same direction as traffic.
Freeman lost control of the scooter and fell into the path of oncoming traffic, then was struck by multiple vehicles, according to investigators.
No charges are expected in this incident.
