Coroner looking for relatives of homeless man found dead in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office is asking for help finding the relatives of a homeless man found dead last week.

The coroner is looking for any family members of 59-year-old Jerry Wayne Johnson, who is believed to have been from Morgan County.

According to the coroner, Johnson was never married. He says his mother, Ruth Ann Johnson, and sister, Barbara Johnson Conley, are both dead.

The coroner says Johnson has a sister, Peggy Johnson, who is believed to live in Palm Springs, California.

Lexington Police found Johnson dead after he was spotted sleeping under the I-75 overpass on Winchester Road Friday morning. The coroner said he died of environmental exposure-hypothermia.
