Congressman Andy Barr hopes President Trump visit will boost campaign

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – U.S. Congressman Andy Barr is looking for a competitive edge in this year’s election.

Republican incumbent Andy Barr hopes tomorrow’s visit from President Trump will give his campaign a boost against Democratic challenger Amy McGrath.

The race between Congressman Barr and McGrath remains close in the polls leading up to next month’s election.

The Barr campaign announced Trump would campaign with Barr in Richmond.

President Trump is holding a rally Saturday night at Eastern Kentucky University’s Alumni Coliseum at 7 p.m.

This marks the third rally President Trump has held in Kentucky since he began his presidential race in June 2015.

The President is expected to discuss economy and the importance of keeping the Republican majorities in the house and senate.
