Concrete Trucks Pour into CenterPointe Site
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – It was a busy morning in downtown Lexington at the CentrePointe site.
Several concrete trucks began delivering concrete to the site, starting at 2 a.m. Friday.
It is the future site of a three-story underground parking garage and part of the CentrePointe hotel and business complex.
Seeing work going on at the site has been a welcome site for many.
The CentrePointe project has suffered a decade of delays and setbacks, leaving a large hole in downtown.
But back in May, developer Dudley Webb spoke about the project, saying he expected the underground parking garage to be finished by early next year.
After the garage is built, Webb expects it’ll be another year before an office building is there.
The concrete trucks were scheduled to deliver the concrete until 7 a.m. so the morning commute would not be affected.
