Computer outages cause delays at Blue Grass Airport

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Computer issues caused flight delays across the country, including in Kentucky.

Aviation officials say several airlines were dealing with computer outages involving a vendor that services multiple carriers with data used in flight planning.

Southwest, Delta, Jetblue, American, and United were among the airlines experiencing “system-wide outages.”

Delays were reported at airports in Chicago, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Miami and Detroit.

The Blue Grass Airport says it was also impacted Monday.

It had six flights delayed as a result of the outage.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the issue was resolved by Monday afternoon.
