Compassionate caravan out on the New Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The compassionate caravan was out Monday night delivering soup, giving out warm clothing, and offering rides to the shelter.

One of ABC 36’s reporters rode along with volunteers on a route, on one of the coldest nights this winter.

The caravan, going out on cold nights starting at 6, makes stops around Lexington to help anyone in need.

“See if we can get them to come in and give them some blankets, we got coats, brand new coats if they need it, and they are big enough we can just put it right on them.”

Volunteers say they run out of blankets almost every night.

If you would like the compassionate caravan to help someone out that you see in need, or donate, you can call the hotline at 859-913-00-38.
