Community remains #MarshallStrong on second anniversary of school shooting

BENTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Marshall County High School marked a somber anniversary on Thursday.

It was two years ago two students, Preston Cope and Bailey Holt, both 15, were killed and 14 others were wounded in a shooting at the school.

On Thursday, students at the school hosted a community blood drive, saying it was a way to give back.

Comfort dogs were also present during the day to help students and staff.

Later in the evening, the Facilitators of Community Unity and Support hosted a “Night of Hope and Healing” in the Kenneth Shadowen Performing Arts Center at the school.

Gabe Parker, who is accused of carrying out the school shooting, is scheduled to go to trial in June.
