Community Complaints Leads To Drug Bust In Laurel County

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said citizen complaints about suspected drug activity led to the search of a home and an arrest Monday afternoon.

Investigators said they executed a search warrant at the Hensley Road home of Aaron Simpson, 54, of East Bernstadt.

Deputies said they found over a pound of processed marijuana, digital scales, plastic bags, a firearm and over $3,000.

A drug dog from State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement aided in the search.

Investigators said Simpson was charged with numerous drug offenses, including trafficking and possession.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
