It’s been 39 years since Secretariat’s Triple Crown.

And he’s still making news.

The Maryland Racing Commission just voted to adjust his winning race time in the 1973 Preakness.

It was 1:54 2/5.

Now, it’s officially 1:53.

That means Secretariat holds the record for the fastest-ever Preakness race time.

The race time was reinvestigated at the request of his owner, Penny Chenery.
