Colorado man killed in semi-truck collision in Meade County

BRANDENBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was killed Monday afternoon after colliding with a semi-truck in Meade County.

According to Kentucky State Police, Post 4 troopers received a call from Meade County dispatch around 2:58 p.m. regarding a two-vehicle fatal collision around the 21,000 block of KY 313.

The initial investigation found that Jason Anderson, 45, of Golden, CO. was driving north on KY 313 in a 2018 Buick Encore. Troopers do not know why, but Anderson’s car crossed the centerline into the path of a semi-tractor trailer driven by Rodney Bearinger of Alberta, Canada.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Meade County Coroner’s Office. Bearinger was taken to Baptist Health Hardin with minor injuries.

KY 313 was closed for several hours in that area as troopers reconstructed the accident.
