Collision Sends Truck into Lexington Bar
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Fire Department is on the scene of a collision downtown between a pickup truck and a hatch-back that ended up sending the truck into Harvey’s Bar at the corner of Main Street and South Upper.
According to the Fire Department, the wreck happened just after 9:00 a.m. Investigators say the two vehicles collided, sending the truck across a sidewalk before it hit a crossing sign and slammed into the front of the nightclub.
Crews checked to ensure that no one was in the bar or in the office space above Harvey’s.
The driver of the truck was sent to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries
The Fire Department says they called in heavy rescue units to shore up the building. Structural engineers will be coming to the scene to check out structure damage.
Upper Street between Main Street and Vine Street is shut down, while Main Street is down to one lane.
