Cold start to Tuesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Good morning and happy Tuesday! We are tracking another cold start to the day, you’ll need the winter jacket as you head out the door. The good news is that this cold air won’t stick around all day. We will return to the low-to-mid 50s this afternoon. That warm-up is thanks to skies clearing out and southwesterly winds increasing. Wind gusts will be as strong as 25-35 mph, with sustained winds around 15-20 mph.
Don’t forget, Spring officially begins at 11:06 pm today with the Vernal Equinox. It doesn’t really feel like Spring out there early on your Tuesday, but we will actually be climbing above average temperature-wise on Wednesday. Afternoon highs will be reaching the upper 50s, near 60 by the afternoon. There will be an elevated fire danger risk both Tuesday and Wednesday thanks to the dry air mass and windy conditions. Outdoor burning is not
recommended as any fire could grow out of control quickly.
