MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police with the Electronic Crime Branch say they arrested 36-year-old Douglas A. Gibson at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday evening on charges related to distribution and possession of matter portraying a sex performance of a minor.

Gibson’s arrest follows an investigation by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch after he was discovered sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

Troopers say the investigation culminated in the execution of a search warrant, where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory.

Gibson is currently charged with six counts of distribution and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.

He was taken to the Clay County Detention Center.
