Clark Co. Animal Shelter received 33 cats from animal hoarding case

CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Clark County Animal Shelter says it’s in an emergency situation and may be forced to euthanize animals after taking in dozens of cats this week.

The shelter says it received 33 cats from an animal hoarding case on Tuesday.

It says it was already taking in a large number of cats daily at the shelter and is now out of space.

The shelter says it needs to adopt out about 20 cats Thursday and Friday to avoid euthanizing animals.

It has extended its hours to make it easier for people to come in and adopt.

The cat adoption fee is $25.00.

The shelter is also asking for people to donate money, food or cat litter.
