City records 1st flu-related death of season, nearly 100 new cases

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington saw its first flu-related death of the season and nearly 100 new flu cases last week.

According to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, the first death of the season was a person older than 100 who also had COVID-19 at the same time.

The city marked 95 new lab-confirmed flu cases, making the total up to 364.

Lexington also recorded 221 new COVID-19 cases last week.
