City of Lexington’s weeklong 4th of July activities

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The fourth of July is Thursday and the city of Lexington’s fourth of July activities begin on Monday.

Monday the city will host an ice cream social at Tandy Park from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday will be “Big Band and Boom” at the Moondance Amphitheatre from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday will be the “Patriotic Concert” from 5 to 9 p.m. at Transy University.

Thursday will be jam packed with the “BG10k” on Main St. at 7:25 a.m., a fun run at 8:30 a.m. at the Courthouse Plaza and a festival and market from 10 to 3.

There will also be a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 10 a.m. at the Historic Courthouse. The Main St. Parade will begin at noon.

The fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. downtown.

The city will end the week of festivities on Friday with “Red, White and Blues” from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Moondance Amphitheater.
