City crews will work overnight treating slick spots
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – With the possibility of up to an inch of snow this evening, Lexington’s divisions of Water Quality and Streets & Roads will work through the night and treat slick roadways as needed.
Major precipitation is not expected, but paired with unseasonably cold temperatures and winds, exposed and elevated structures like bridges, overpasses and hills may freeze while roads remain dry. These areas will be monitored and treated as necessary.
City officials are urging motorists to use caution while driving this evening and on their morning commutes.
Residents can get information on accidents, lane blockages, snow-and-ice trouble spots and road closures through the city’s Twitter accounts (@lexwrecks and @lexkypolice). They can also view traffic at major intersection in real time through the city’s traffic cameras at lexingtonky.gov/traffic.
