Residents march for peace in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington church hosted a peace walk Thursday evening, calling for an end to violence.
The march started at the Higher Praise International Deliverance Temple on South Broadway and ended at the Cook Out restaurant.
That is where 15-year-old Trinity Gay was shot to death on Sunday.
Pastor Kamicia Griffin told ABC 36 that the issue of violence strikes close to home for her, saying, “I have seven children, and I’m tired of the violence. I’m tired of the killing. the senseless killing. I’m tired of being concerned and worried that my son might be killed.”
The march comes after a second shooting on Sunday. 27-year-old James Blair was shot and killed in the parking lot of Chase Bank on East Main Street.
