Church helps community by giving out flood buckets

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – One church helping the community after the devastating floods last weekend.

Volunteers with the Trinity Global Methodist handed out more than 570 flood buckets to people in the community on Saturday.

The church was able to get the buckets from a warehouse in Alabama.

The buckets were filled with cleaning supplies, such as trash bags, gloves, scrubs, brushes and more.

Pastor Todd Chancey says he knows people need more than cleaning supplies, but hopes it lessens the burden.

“We hope that if there’s other needs in the community we’ll be able to come back and bring some more teams and maybe muck out some houses, put up some sheetrock or whatever’s needed,” said Chancey.

He adds they plan on filling the warehouse in Alabama back up for Thanksgiving.
