Chilly temperatures continue in the days ahead

Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Monday evening everyone, it was a frigid start to our day with temperatures that hit the frosty upper 20s to low 30s across the area. Here is some of the cold numbers thanks to the Kentucky Mesonet.

Temperatures will be cold once again to start our Tuesday with mainly upper 30s to low 40s here in central Kentucky, with mid to low 30s in southern and eastern Kentucky.

A breezy wind will help eliminate any frost threat in central Kentucky, but where winds will be calm and temperatures drop lower we have a FROST ADVISORY in southern and eastern Kentucky.

Temperatures recover nicely into Tuesday afternoon with upper 60s to low 70s under mostly sunny skies!

Scattered showers and rumbles of thunder moves in from the north late Tuesday into the wee hours of Wednesday morning. NO severe weather is expected.

We should be dry by the time we wake up on Wednesday morning with mid to upper 40s.

Wednesday afternoon will feature skies clearing but cool temperatures into the low to mid 60s. Some thicker clouds may keep temperatures in the 50s across the north.

Thursday morning brings us another frost threat but this one looks widespread across the entire state like this morning as temperatures hit the low to mid 30s.

Thursday afternoon remains dry and sunny with temperatures still at or below average into the mid to upper 60s.

We hit the low 70s on Friday with some scattered thunderstorms, Saturday gets even warmer with low to mid 70s but still a few scattered storms.

Sunday gets even warmer with upper 70s to low 80s with still a scattered storm chance.
