Chilly mornings ahead before a slow warm up
Cooler starts to the day
Both Thursday and Friday will have chillier mornings. Thursday will see the low 40s for most, and Friday morning a few of us may drop into the upper 30s. It’s definitely a good idea to grab a jacket as you head out the door. Through today you might need to keep it on, as afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s, and winds will be a bit breezy. Gusts up to 20 mph out of the NE won’t have a large impact besides ushering in some cooler, drier air for the end of our week
Amazing fall weekend weather
We’ll stay dry and mostly sunny, with cool mornings and mild afternoons. Friday afternoon marks the beginning of a gradual warmup that we’ll see over the next several days. On Friday, we’ll see the low 70s, Saturday a few degrees warmer, and by Sunday, we’re looking at the mid-70s. Despite the lack of rain since Tuesday, outdoor areas like pumpkin patches may still be muddy, so keep this in mind as you head outdoors to celebrate those fun fall activities.
Warm temperatures are not gone just yet
Despite the cooldown we’ve seen, temperatures are likely to warm back up to near summer-like. The slow warming trend continues into next week, and by Wednesday we may see the upper 70s and possibly near 80 degrees yet again. Long-term temperature trends continue to place the bluegrass region slightly above average, but keep in mind our average temperatures are going down. So despite a brief warm-up, we will likely be back to fall-like again soon.
