Child sexual exploitation charges for Johnson Co. man

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) -Kentucky State Police say an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation led to the arrest of a man.

37-year-old Ryan P. Cooper was arrested and charged with promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Detectives with the KSP Electronic Crime Branch say they discovered Cooper sharing images of child sexual exploitation online, including an image of a nude infant.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Wednesday, and seized equipment used to facilitate the crime.  Cooper was arrested and taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
