UPDATE: Father arrested after Laurel Co. fire that killed two-year-old boy
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police say the father that ran from the scene after a fire broke out inside a trailer, killing his two-year-old son, Saturday, has been arrested.
Troopers say 26-year-old Vaughn Brock is charged with murder and arson. He was arrested Wednesday at an apartment complex on Mill Creak Drive near Keavy.
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A child is dead after a fire in Laurel County and police are looking for his father.
Joseph Brock, two-years-old, was found dead inside a trailer Saturday.
According to State Police, the boy’s father, Vaughn Brock, ran from the scene.
Joseph’s grandmother, Charlena Jones, says he was full of life and it was always entertaining when they were together.
“He was the happiest baby in the world,”Jones said.
On Saturday, Jones received a call from her daughter saying there was a fire at their trailer in London.
Jones says she did not know if Joseph was out of the trailer and alive.
“I immediately got in the car and went to her,” Jones said.
According to police, the cause of the fire has not been determined nor has the child’s cause of death death.
Jones she says she doesn’t know what to think and is searching for answers.
“I want the truth to come out,” she said.
She says it’s been a nightmare for her family.
She says both she and her daughter can’t talk without breaking down.
“He was all the time laughing, playing jokes on my 11 year old son, and constantly running. He loved to run,” Jones said.
Jones says the family will remember Joseph for the young, fun loving kid that he was.
There will be a visitation Wednesday, April 3rd from 5-9 p.m. at Community Harvest Church in Buckhorn. The funeral will be at the church Thursday at 11 a.m.
