Chief Deputy of Powell County passed away
POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Chief Deputy in Powell County has passed away.
Robert Earl “Rog” Mathews died of Heart failure at UK hospital on Saturday, according to colleagues.
His obituary states “Rog” was a law enforcement officer from 1985 until 2004 with the City of Stanton Police Department, he retired as the Chief.
Mathews then started at the Powell County Sheriff’s Office as Chief Deputy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, at Stanton Christian Church, 100 West Church Street, Stanton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
His burial will be held with military honors at the Elkins Cemetery in Stanton.
