Central Kentucky Dance Theatre to perform ‘The Nutcracker’
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The Central Kentucky Dance Theatre is preparing for their winter showcase next weekend.
This year they will be performing Tchaikovsky’s two-act classical ballet ‘The Nutcracker’.
Performers have been practicing for months and today was the final studio rehearsal.
Leah Copley, the artistic director, spoke about seeing these dancers getting perform the piece.
“I always have the same butterflies, since I was a child, even as a director,” said Copley. “But I’ve decided that if you don’t have that level of care and excitement then you shouldn’t be doing this because that’s part of it.”
The ballet will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 2 p.m. in the Mitchell Fine Arts Center at Transylvania University.
