Celebration of life scheduled for Lexington teenager killed in crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Family and friends are remembering a Lexington teenager killed in a crash in Larue County.

D’Jharriah A. Davis, known as DJ, was most recently student at Lindsey Wilson College in Adair County. She was a recent 2019 graduate of Bryan Station High School in Fayette County. Officials say there were grief counselors at the high school Tuesday to help students and staff in need.

According to the college, Davis died in a head-on car collision on Sunday. She was a member of the women’s track and field team and was just 18-years-old when she died.

“DJ was a strong, dedicated and driven individual,” says LWC President Wilson. “Rare qualities that we search for in our recruiting process. Our staff knew without a doubt that DJ had tremendous potential as a student athlete and we had only just begun to see her full talent. I extend my condolences to her family and friends. DJ will be missed and remembered.”

A celebration of life for Davis will be held at House of God on Georgetown Street, in Lexington on Sunday, January 26.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral following. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris.
