CCS: Clinton County toddler dies after attack by uncle
ALBANY/LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, investigators have charged a man with murder, after they say he cut his own niece’s throat.
According to an arrest citation, 33-year-old Emanuel Fluter was originally arrested for assault and wanton endangerment, following the incident in Albany, Ky, in Clinton County.
The citation says that Fluter went into a room with his niece and four other children and cut her throat with a knife.
It says his brother-in law, Benjamin Bulubenchi, rushed into the room after hearing screams and tried to disarm Fluter, which led to him being cut also.
3-year-old Josephine Bulubenchi was flown to Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington on Saturday, following the attack, according to the Fayette County coroner.
The coroner says the toddler was pronounced dead Sunday night at 5:23 p.m.; the death was ruled a homicide.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Frankfort.
According to the Clinton County Jail, a murder warrant was issued for Fluter at the jail on Sunday night.
