Cars, power lines hit by falling tree in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An afternoon storm took down a tree that hit two cars and some power lines in Lexington.
It happened on Whitney Avenue around 2 p.m. Monday.
The tree struck power lines and landed on top of one car and partially onto another.
One neighbor tells ABC 36 the trees in the area are old and many people have complained about them.
Heavy rains from the storm also caused flash flooding in some parts of Lexington.
Police briefly closed North Broadway near New Circle Road at the railroad bridge because of high waters.
High water was also reported at West High Street near Jefferson Street, West Loudon Avenue near Broadway and Russell Cave Road and Elm Tree Lane at East Second Street.
