Car theft arrest leads to officer assault charges in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police have arrested a man they say stole a car and then assaulted officers during his arrest.

Police say 20-year-old Paul Bond III was driving a stolen vehicle when they pulled him over Monday evening.

They say during the course of his arrest, he struggled with officers and hit one in the face with his knee.

Police say Bond then tried to run off while being treated for injuries and kicked another officer in the face during that struggle.

He is charged with auto theft, assaulting an officer, and other charges.
