Car stopped in middle of road lands man in jail on drug charges
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington Police officer called for backup Monday morning after finding a car in the middle of the road with the driver either asleep at the wheel or under the influence.
Police say the officer was on patrol in the 100 block of Londonderry Drive when he saw a car sitting in the middle of the road just after 8:00 a.m.
Investigators say when the officer went up to the car, there were narcotics clearly visible inside the vehicle.
Police say when the driver woke up, he was uncooperative. That’s when the officer called for backup. Eventually the man was arrested and taken to jail.
Investigators say 25-year old Dyvontea Davis faces drug trafficking charges, which include methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and derivatives of carfentanil or fentanyl.
According to the Fayette County Detention Center website, this is Davis’ sixth mugshot, dating back to an arrest in 2015.
