Car flips in accident, infant inside; LPD investigate

According to police, 32-year-old Blair Leddy has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and wanton endangerment after flipping her car with her infant inside.

Lexington Police are investigating an accident where a car flipped with an infant inside.

According to LPD, around 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to the 400 block of Park Avenue for an injury collision.

Upon arrival they found a woman and her infant inside the car.

Both the woman and the infant were removed and taken to the hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries.

Police report that it is believed that the vehicle hit several parked cars before flipping.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, but alcohol is believed to have played a role.

The road remained closed while officers investigated, but opened back up just before 8 p.m.
