Caddie127 to hand out $200,000 to local charities

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Nearly $200,000 will be presented to area charities at the upcoming Caddie127 Charity Golf Classic and Celebration.

Caddie127 is the charitable arm of the Barbasol Championship that takes place every year at Keene Trace Golf Club.

“We have six really wonderful charities that protect women and children in Kentucky, that’s our mission,” said PGA Tour Barbasol Championship Tournament Director Bryan Pettigrew. “We decided to put on our second annual event and donate that money this year.”

According to Pettigrew, Caddie127 is approaching the $500,000 mark in local donations to charities.

“We had entertainment and activities and food on every hole so we’re even more excited to amp it up this year,” said Lauren Vernon, Director of Marketing at Keene Trace.

The two day event features a check presentation to the charities during a VIP reception.

“It’s really a special night,” said Pettigrew. “Thursday, Oct. 14 will be the date this year.”

“The charities really show up Barbasol week and they are offering volunteers and their time and so it’s just a good way to celebrate them and cap off the tournament in July,” added Vernon.
