Burglarized Businesses Band Together
The Morris Bookstore was broken into for the second time in a week on Thursday.
Police said other stores in the area had also been hit, including Hair Razors, Stuartos Olive Oil, A Cup Of Commonwealth, and The Lexington Visual Collective.
The owner of Morris Bookstore said neighborhood support had been strong with people showing up first thing Friday morning to purchase a book.
Owner Wyn Morris said, "A community like Lexington is unique. It bands together when we need them, they’re there for us, and vice-versa."
The nearby A Cup Of Commonwealth coffeehouse was also recently broken-in to.
They are offering the public a free coffee for shopping at any of the targeted businesses.
Police said it’s too soon to tell if the break-ins are connected.
