Bullitt Central cheerleaders OK after head on collision near Atlanta

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — A group of students from Bullitt County heading to Florida for a sports competition are all OK after a serious crash Thursday morning.

Bullitt County Schools attorney Eric Farris said 29 cheerleaders and three coaches from Bullitt Central High School were on their way to Orlando for a national competition when their bus was struck head on by a wrong way driver on I-75 near Atlanta around 2 a.m.

No injuries were reported and the team continued on to Orlando after boarding another bus.  According to the Bullitt County Public Schools Facebook page, the driver who hit the bus may have been drunk.  It is not clear at this time if the driver was arrested or charged.
