Bullet Hits Officer’s Cruiser During Patrol

Lexington Police are investigating after a bullet hit one of their cruisers overnight.

It happened around 1 a.m. Friday.

Police said an officer was doing a routine patrol on Roosevelt Boulevard when he heard a gunshot.

The officer stopped to take a look around the area and noticed a bullet hole in the passenger side of his cruiser.

Police said it appeared the bullet hit the car after it ricocheted off the ground.

They aren’t sure whether that bullet was intended for the officer.

Police searched the area but still haven’t located any suspects.

Police said if they find a suspect, they could be charged with wanton endangerment.
