Building fire in Hazard, contained

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – According to Perry County 911, a fire started in The Old Grand Hotel early Tuesday morning.

At 4:57, dispatchers were called to the historic building, and efforts to control the flames resulted in three fire departments working together. As of 11:10 a.m., Perry Co. 911 says there are still crews working to prevent hot spots from flaring up, but the fire is contained.

Dispatchers reported two people being treated for smoke inhalation.

The Old Grand Hotel has been around since the early 1930’s, and has since transitioned into living and business space. According to dispatch, Emergency managers are still working to find assistance for those who have been displaced by the fire.
