Brooks Houck, main suspect in Crystal Rogers disappearance, moved to new jail
BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) — Brooks Houck, the main suspect in Crystal Rogers’ disappearance, was transferred to another jail in Kentucky on Wednesday.
Jail records show Houck was transferred from the Hardin County Detention Center to the Oldham County Detention Center around 2:15 p.m.
Houck is still charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. No new charges were added to his move.
At this time, it’s unclear why Houck was moved to the jail in Oldham County, according to ABC affiliate WHAS.
In November, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled Nelson County judge Charles Simms could stay on the case after Houck’s attorneys appealed for his removal.
Also in November, a state Appeals Court denied Houck’s attorneys’ request to lower his $10 million bond.
Houck isn’t the only man charged in connection to Rogers’ case.
Stephen Lawson and his son, Joseph, are charged with conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence.
Joseph remains in custody at the Grayson County Detention Center while Stephen is still being held in the Harrison County Jail in Indiana.
Rogers disappeared on July 3, 2015. Her father, Tommy Ballard, later found her car along the Bluegrass Parkway. Inside he found her keys, cell phone and purse.
She has been presumed dead since October 2015.
