Breeders’ Cup: What you need to know

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Friday kicks off the 2015 Breeders’ Cup in Lexington at Keeneland.  A general schedule of the events planned for the two days of racing can be found below:


  • Admission Gates Open: 10:00 A.M.
  • Mutuel Windows Open: 11:30 A.M.
  • First Post: 12:30 P.M.
  • First Breeders’ Cup Race: 3:30 P.M.
  • Breeders’ Cup Distaff: 5:35 P.M.


  • Admission Gates Open: 9:00 A.M.
  • Mutuel Windows Open: 10:00 A.M.
  • First Post: 11:00 A.M.
  • First Breeders’ Cup Race: 12:05 P.M.
  • Breeders’ Cup Classic: 5:35 P.M

Keeneland says parking at the track will be limited to those with pre-paid parking credentials. It says all other vehicles will be turned away at the gate.

There are off-site park and ride shuttles available at the KY Horse Park, Rupp Arena and Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Parking passes at the sites include shuttles to and from Keeenland. The track says they will depart every 15 minutes.

Click here for a map of the park and ride sites. Passes can be purchased in advance for $20 per vehicle, per day. Keeneland says the only site that will allow day-of parking pass sales is the Kentucky Horse Park. Those passes will be $25 per day.  Walk-up shuttle passes will be available at Rupp Arena only.
